Greater Hume Council intends to seek state government approval to reclassify parcels of community land to operational land at Britton Court, Pech Avenue, Klein Court and Pioneer Drive.

The council notified adjacent landowners and held a public hearing in May, which six people attended, and three submissions against the plans were submitted.

Travis Lafferty wrote fruit trees had been planted and there were plans for a community garden at the reserve at Britton Court, which he described as a "community focus centre for the court" used on a daily basis.

"There are many family gatherings held within the neighbourhood from children playing cricket, footy, playing with their toys ... all this builds foundations," he said.

Other residents said the reserve had influenced their decisions to build in Britton Court and raised concern about children having to go to the nearby recreation reserve following child approaches in the area, investigated by police.

Environment and planning director Colin Kane wrote in his report to council that the distance from the reserve to the proposed adventure playground was 700 metres.

"It is considered that the matters raised in the written responses and at the public meeting do not warrant council to alter its planning proposal," he said.

Councillors will vote on the recommendation requesting the Department of Planning and Environment to reclassify the land at Wednesday night's council meeting.

Plans for a new Lanfranchi Housing 14-lot subdivision at Mitchell Street, which received three objecting submissions, will also be considered.

Concerns about added pressure on sewerage and drainage were raised, but council's engineers had not outlined either as being a problem for the proposal.

Discussions about the Walla Walla Fire Class Action and the proposal to sell land with overdue unpaid rates in the shire will be referred to closed council.

It has not been disclosed how many properties would be put up for public auction, but they will be advertised once an auction date has been set.
