Wodonga Bulldogs Football and Netball Club leaders requested the money from their city council at a budget submissions meeting on Monday.
Wodonga Hockey Club figures also made an appearance, calling for $300,000 to go towards a $1.1 million pavilion at its Silva Drive home.

Bulldogs netballers began using their existing court in 2012, but club president Richard Bence and vice president Mick Mathey said a series of cracks were compromising its safety.
"The Ovens and Murray have indicated to us that they would be hesitant to grant us a final because of the state of the court at the moment, so we're missing out on revenue there," Mr Mathey said.
"My biggest concern with the court is if Netball Victoria came and condemned the court, or one of our players slipped over or got injured on that court, where do we go, where we do we play then?
"We've got no other option, to not have your netball and football played at the same ground would be not only financially hard but also emotionally hard."
Mr Bence said it would cost $50,000 to resurface the court, with the club wanting to halve the bill with council.
He suggested in-kind work affected the quality of material used originally.
President Kyle Brereton said the $1.1 million total would also include up to $200,000 from his club and $300,000 from the Victorian government.
"With $500,000 on the table we obviously don't want that to go and hence...why we're making the submission now," Mr Brereton said.
Hockey club life member Dawn George told councillors a pavilion would also cater to CWA meetings, the nearby BMX club and allow state league matches to be played at the field.
"(It would be a) place we can display our club history which is currently in a box in the corner - our trophies, our premiership flags, memorabilia," Mrs George said.
The result of both clubs' submissions will be known next Monday night when Wodonga Council meets to determine its final budget for 2019-20.
