Rutherglen will have undefeated Thurgoona in their sights for a top of the table clash in Tallangatta league netball on Saturday.
Cats coach Emily Browne said her side's defensive pressure and high shooting percentage will be key factors in helping them against the in-form Bulldogs unit.
"Our defensive pressure from our goal shooter right through to our goal keeper is just spot on at the moment," Browne said.
"It's a credit to the girls, they've really just taken everything on board and put it into play.
"Thurgoona have had a fantastic season so far.
"It will be nice to see exactly where we're at.
"Even if we come away with a loss, it will be a great opportunity to learn from that, move on and hopefully come across them in finals.
"If seven of our players show up on the weekend, it's going to be a really good game."
Thurgoona's strong early storm out of the blocks has left them as the benchmark in the competition so far this season.
After reaching the halfway mark of the competition in second place, Browne said the whole morale around her team is high.
"The girls have just gone above and beyond this year," Browne said.
"There's been numerous teams who have said we have some of the cleanest defenders they've played on all year.
"That's on of the biggest compliments for our defenders and coaching staff to receive."
While the top two teams play off, third and fourth will also meet when Yackandandah play host to Kiewa Sandy Creek, setting up an exciting round in Tallangatta league netball.
After 10 rounds, Kiewa Sandy Creek and Rutherglen both sit on nine wins and one loss this season, with percentage the separating factor despite the Hawks defeating the Cats back in round four.
The Hawks then sit four games clear of Yackandandah, who had an upset loss to Chiltern last weekend.
The bulk of the competition remains tight, with the Roos along with Tallangatta, Mitta and Wodonga Saints all halving their seasons with five wins and losses.
Barnawartha and Dederang Mt Beauty sit just one game behind the pack, while reigning premiers the Hoppers are just holding on to squeeze into the top five.
Browne said it's good to see the competition remaining interesting each season.
"There's always a chance at the start of the season that wherever you finished on the ladder the year before, you have the chance to finish in the top five," Browne said.
"Every year there's different people at the top and it's really good to see it change every year.
"If we keep going the way we're going, it should be really good to see how far we can get this season."
Thurgoona and Rutherglen will play at 2:50pm in Thurgoona on Saturday.
The remaining Tallangatta league games for round 11 will see Beechworth host Tallangatta, Mitta meet Chiltern, Wahgunyah face Dederang Mt Beauty, while the Wodonga Saints will take on Barnawartha.
