Morey played the first two games of the season for the Blues and booted 12 goals, but informed the club he won't be seeing out the campaign with them.
"They put a clearance back in for him through the week," Cudgewa coach Brayden Carey said.
"It's out of our hands a bit that one.
"It was hard to lose him obviously, but we've got to move on with it."
Cudgewa has been the standout of the competition through the first seven rounds, dropping just one game to Bullioh back in the season opener.
But their depth will be tested as they prepare for Saturday's clash at home against Corryong.
On top of Morey's departure, Kade Small has a broken hand, Luke Bloom is also injured, while Ethan Riddington and Brendan McEvoy are away.

"There's a few other little niggles, so we'll see how we go and maybe give them a week off," Carey added.
"We just have to see how everyone is feeling.
"It's a tough time of the year when it's a bit colder and there's a few blokes out injured, but hopefully we can keep on track.
"Whoever we bring in, we know they can do the job."
Carey said the goal is to finish top of the ladder and earn home ground advantage in the finals.
However, Cudgewa isn't the only club with a growing injury list.
Last weekend's clash between Federal and Corryong resulted in serious injuries to three different players.
The Swans lost first gamers Harry Pole (broken arm) and Daniel Piergrosse (ligament damage to leg) while a Corryong player also suffered a badly broken arm.
Federal coach Steve Fouracre revealed he has had 38 players go through the senior side.
"He (Pole) was cleared from Wodonga and it would have been great to get him for the second half of the season, but it happened in his first game, which is unfortunate," Fouracre said.
"Harry's break was pretty severe, it was both bones in his arm, but it didn't need plates or screws.
"The other (Piergrosse) we thought was a potentially broken leg, but it was some fairly bad ligament damage below his knee.
"I'm not sure if I'm game to debut anyone this week."
Without fielding reserves this year, Fouracre said there's around 12 players out injured that have played during the season.
"I'm hopeful they're not long-term injuries and I should be able to pick a few back up," he said.
"One thing I can't criticise is the effort, whoever I get to play is giving everything and that's pretty admirable under the circumstances."
Federal is at home to Bullioh, while Border Walwa hosts Tumbarumba.
