And while it's hairy and got four legs, it's not another horse.
It's a goat, that Beer has already christened Janice.
Janice is now the constant companion of former Kiwi galloper Mr Trump.
Mr Trump also only arrived at the stable from New Zealand recently and is yet to have his first start for Beer.
Beer said he purchased the goat to prevent Mr Trump from fretting when he wasn't in the company of other horses.
It's not an uncommon practice with many trainers previously using the proven method according to Beer.
"I suppose you could say it's an old trainer's trick," Beer said.
"Mr Trump is a Kiwi horse and after arriving in Australia it's obviously a different environment for him.
"He is a lovely horse but gets extremely attached to the horses next to him.
"So when they go to the races or out of the stable for track work, he starts fretting until they come back.
"It is an odd trait because most horses don't care.
"So the theory is that you pair the horse up with a goat and they develop a bond so when the other horses leave he is still quite content in the company of the goat."
IN OTHER NEWS
Beer said this is the first time he has tried the method since gaining his trainers licence.
"I've never had a horse that frets like Mr Trump before," he said.
"When I was working for trainer Russel Cameron he had a handy mare had a similar problem.
"So we got her a goat and she went on to win plenty of races in city company.
"Unfortunately you can't talk to horses, so I'm willing to try anything method I can to keep them happy."
Beer said Janice will even travel in the float and attend racedays when Mr Trump races outside Albury.
Janice was given her name after Beer conducted a poll, asking his Twitter followers for name suggestions.
"I just put it out there on Twitter that I was off to get a goat and needed a name for her," he said.
"I was looking for a good, old-fashioned name, so Janice it is."
Janice didn't cost Beer anything to buy after she was found roaming loose by the council, walking the streets.
She has been an instant hit at the stable, not only with Mr Trump but with Beer and his staff as well.
"Janice has been great and all the staff love her," he said.
"I've already learnt the hard way though that you have to keep a close-eye on her when she is out of the stable though.
"Because she has already destroyed a few plants around the house.
"When Mr Trump goes out of his stable, of course Janice has to follow."
