IN OTHER NEWS:
North East Roller Derby coach Emma Todd said her club's grant would help provide equipment for participants in the weekly Quad Fit program.
"It's not competitive, not contact, it's just learning some skating skills, having fun and getting fit," she said.
"We'll be upgrading bearings and wheels and buying some new gear that we need to keep our stocks up to supply to people who are brand new skaters, which makes it more accessible because there's not that big upfront cost."
North East Roller Derby will be hosting the Statewide Stampede finals in September, involving eight teams from around Victoria.
"We're a bit of an alternative sport, being roller derby, and it's something different for someone who's not interested in a mainstream sport," Ms Todd said.
