Deputy mayor Shaun Whitechurch raised the possibility of long-term park visitors being able to squeeze in one more summer holiday before a major makeover started.
But Cr Gail Law strongly disagreed and Cr David Longley went a step further in declaring the rest of the council area was playing second fiddle to Corowa.

Also, the council has appointed consultants Integrated Site Design to come up with a master-plan and business plan for the park which will take an estimated 12 weeks to complete at a cost of $36,000
Cr Whitechurch said if project timelines permitted he would like to see people in the park this summer.
"It is really important we think about how we are going to start the project and let's be very considerate that this is done properly," he said.
But Cr Law favoured opposing the idea and wanted notices issued as soon as possible.
"This council seems to be dragging the chain on a lot of jobs," she said.
"The public are noticing this."
"They officially finished on June 6 and we are just waiting on some paperwork to finalise their exit," he said.
"People have been screaming out for a bit of certainty around the process.
"Underlying all that regardless of the master-plan timing we do have a lot of risk in that park, not only with trees, but also the existing configuration of those sites."
Cr Longley said the council was Corowa-centric.
"It is a Corowa problem we've inherited and it's been buck-passed for years," Cr Longley said.
"It is all about Corowa, I am a bit over Corowa.
"We are Federation Council.
"I asked 18 months ago for an investigation into a caravan park in Memorial Park, Howlong and it doesn't get on the list.
"Where is the fairness?
"There are 7500 people who live outside of Corowa, but all we talk about is pools, caravan parks, the rest of the towns are missing out."
