Murray Conservatorium will host The World of Drums workshop on Monday, July 8, and Drumset Masterclass the following day.
Murray Conservatorium classical, percussion and drumset tutor Russell Weiss said the school holiday workshops catered for a range of abilities and ages.
He said The World of Drums was suited to all ages, taking people through the history of drums and percussion with rhythmic exploration.
"Kids and their parents can even do this workshop together," he said.
"It will engage all of the senses through singing, movement and drumming."
Mr Weiss said the Drumset Masterclass was tailored for beginners through to experts.
"It's for amateurs and professionals from beginners to advanced," Mr Weiss said.
"I humbly offer to share what I know.
"It focuses on drumset evolution and technique including comprehensive skill advancement, set tuning and maintenance."
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:
Having trained in orchestral percussion and as a drummer, New York-raised Mr Weiss brings a wealth of experience to the holiday workshops.
He began teaching at Murray Conservatorium about two years ago.
"It's a melding of my Conservatorium education and my professional experience," he said.
"I started in a school band in Upstate New York; I played in a concert band, jazz band, marching band and then the Empire State Youth Orchestra."
Weiss said it was hoped the workshops would become regular offerings.
