Corey started playing hockey in Corowa when he was nine, with two seasons in the under-12s.

After the merger, he began playing under-14s for United and stepped up to the under-16s when needed.
While playing under-16s, he also featured in senior hockey each weekend.
During that time, Corey has been a runner-up in the best and fairest and was also joint recipient of Junior Clubperson of the Year in 2016.
