The joint Charles Sturt University and Albury City project, tracked the walking habits of 50 residents over 65 years old, with data revealing the city's centre was easy to navigate.

But outside the CBD the lack of footpaths along some busy roads, and the poor condition of some footpaths limited walking opportunities.
Project leader Rachel Whitsed said participants recognised areas such as Wonga Wetlands and Nail Can Hill as scenic and attractive for regular walks, but they could only be reached by walking challenging terrain.
"We need to consider such aspects as connectivity from residential to scenic areas as well as within neighbourhoods," she said.
