At a public auction on Saturday, bids for the weatherboard church at 10 Colquhuon St began at $20,000 and steadily rose until a vendor's bid of $80,000 was made by One Agency Albury Wodonga Shane Stone.
"For the Mitta real estate market in 2019, this is the only thing we've got, so that makes an opportunity for anybody here today," he said.
"I've had calls from Queensland, Adelaide and Perth about this property.
"I've had in excess of eight to 10 phone calls per day, and equivalent in emails, and I also got phone calls about an hour ago.
"There is no septic or sewerage on this property and those who do developments here will have to, subject of the council approval, install septic.
"It is 25 steps to the pub."
Three main contenders took the price higher in $1000 increases and eventually came to a final bid of $107,500.

The new owners declined to comment, but The Border Mail understands they have local connections and are invested in the community.
The last congregation there was six months ago, and a growing repair list including a re-stumping prompted the Uniting Church to put the building, on a 450 square metre lot, on the market.
It was originally a Methodist church, built in the 1860s, but it's been under the Uniting banner since 1977.
The auction on Saturday morning came as the recently-renovated Eskdale sold for $4000 less was open for inspection, with buyers being sought.
