Begun on Saturday morning, the Go Fund Me page surpassed its target by hitting $57,000 by noon on Sunday.
The money will go towards covering the funerary costs for 27-year-old father of three Josh Leetham, who died in a head-on collision with a truck near Hay on Friday.

The GoFundMe page was started by long-term friends of Mr Leetham, Charlea and Lenard Clarke.
"Josh was the sole income provider for the family, so it's so great that we could get this money together to help [Josh's wife] Madi," said Mrs Clarke.
Having moved to Queensland only four weeks ago, Mr and Mrs Clarke said they felt dramatically disconnected from their hometown when the news of the tragedy came to them.
"We're 2000 kilometres away, it's just so far, so we're just can't wait to get home and see everyone, but for now while we're here, this is what we could do to help," Mr Clarke said.
Mr Leetham's death leaves behind his wife and three children, seven-year-old Aleaha, five-year-old Harrison, and 20-month-old Zander.
As the eldest of four, he has also left behind 26-year-old sisters Tori and Chloe aged 23 and 18, brother Brendon aged 23, and parents Joe and Vicki.
In the wake of the crash, Mrs Clarke said it was heartwarming to witness the small town rallying around the young family.
"Madi is surrounded by family, people are bringing them meals, taking the kids out to the park, doing anything they can to make it easier," Mrs Clarke said.
"It's absolutely devastating, I just can't imagine what they must be going through."
Creating the GoFundMe for the Leetham family, Mrs Clarke says was "the least we could ever do for them, they're like family to us".
"Madi and I grew up together, and actually when I was seven I was very sick and had to go to the Royal Children's Hospital.
"It was her family that looked after mine during that time.
"Josh and Lenard grew up together, they went to primary and high school together. We're all very close.
"I would do anything to help them where ever I can.
"As they are amazing kind people and would do anything to help you also.
Friday's crash near Hay followed a series of accidents around the region over the past week.
But the devastation of Mr Leetham's death has hit hard, as his family was well-known and well-liked in the small town.
"All he ever did was work for his family, he was such a hard worker," Mr Clarke said.
Mr Leetham was a qualified welder but carved a living operating earthworks equipment and setting out cotton paddocks around the region.
"My husband and I thought we would create the GoFundMe page to help just that little, I know it wouldn't take away the pain but it would give financial relief for their family," Mrs Clarke said.
