The Blues made their run in the second term and held their nerve despite missing the likes of Rhys Preston, Craig and Josh Lieschke, Jack Gilbee, Jack McDonald and Jordan Peters.
Preston's season is over with the defender to undergo a knee reconstruction.
"There was a fair bit at stake so it was a good win," coach Phil Packer said.
"We had to make a lot of changes this week due to injury and I thought the boys did well.
"Yackandandah had some players out too though."
The Roos sorely missed spearhead Trent Castles who suffered a shoulder injury in a recent match against Kiewa-Sandy Creek.
Joel Wilson, Danny Stewart and Drew Cameron were best for Mitta United.
Remarkably, Cameron kicked six goals despite carrying a knee injury which requires a reconstruction.
