The band has been booked later this year to play at Whisky A Go Go, the Californian nightclub that launched rock royalty the likes of The Doors and Motley Crue.
Midnight Alibi vocalist James Oswald said it would be beyond a privilege to play the Los Angeles venue.
"The Doors and Janis Joplin were house bands there," he said.
"It's a dream to go to that venue let alone jump up on stage where Jim Morrison played Light My Fire!"
Midnight Alibi will embark on their first US tour in late November before performing at Whisky A Go Go on Friday, December 6, supporting the Texan outfit Drowning Pool.
Formed in Albury in 2012, Midnight Alibi is renowned for its loud and dirty, adrenaline-pumping brand of rock 'n' roll.
Since then the band has toured the country relentlessly and independently released two critically-acclaimed EPs; the latter Love Yourself Sick included the radio track, Down The River, which gave them widespread national airplay.
In 2017, Midnight Alibi signed a recording agreement with Sydney-based Possum Records.
The band's first two singles with them, Ego Tripper and Thief, gained major commercial and community radio play including on the Triple M metropolitan and regional radio networks.

Having recently arrived home from the US, Oswald said he was pumped about the future for the band.
In the US he joined members of iconic bands Guns N' Roses, Alice Cooper, Slash's Snakepit and Stray Cats for The Sunset Winos gig at Rava Wines in California.
"I found out a month before that I was going to be singing with them," Oswald said.
"I was in Wodonga, I was just buzzing.
"I performed with Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom; Stray Cats was the first band I listened to as a child! I played with Jimmy DeGrasso from Alice Cooper and Teddy Zig Zag Andreadis, keys from Guns N' Roses."
Oswald said their song Hard One featured Tony Featherstone (The Bad Loves/Jimmy Barnes) on keys.
"Midnight Alibi has toured with some of the best bands in Australia and you want to learn from those people," he said.
"You have got to take in as much as you can from your heroes when you meet them.
"Then when you put in enough hard work, anything is possible!"
