Joel Clavell remains in hospital in Melbourne under police guard.
On Friday, he was charged with a number of offences including assaulting police; making threats to kill; intentionally exposing a police officer to risk by driving; aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving; and causing damage to emergency service vehicle by reckless driving.
Earlier last week a spokeswoman from the Alfred hospital told The Border Mail Joel's condition was improving.
He was transported to the hospital after the June 12 shooting in a critical condition.

Joel and his brother Joshua were arrested by police after their vehicle rammed a police car at Richardsons Bend.
Joshua Clavell, 30, was previously extradited from Albury Base Hospital to Melbourne and was charged with 11 offences including assaulting police officers.
Both men will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 9 September.
The investigation into the incident, which occurred near the Old Barnawartha Road on 12 June, is being led by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad.
