Saludos head chef, Jan, spent two weeks working in the three Michelin star restaurant, Arzak, in Spain during June.
She was invited by Arzak owner, Juan Mari Arzak, 76, who is one of the founding fathers of contemporary Spanish cooking.
"It was a truly amazing experience learning first-hand some of the secrets that are being applied to one of the world's best restaurants," she said.
"I'm excited to be able to take what I learned and apply it to the kitchen of Saludos."
Last year Jan's children, Jak and Loni Hancock and Dylan Chapman, surprised her with a trip to Spain; the trip she never got to take with Daniel after he died in 2015.
The highlight of that trip was lunch at the San Sebastian restaurant, Arzak.
Jan said her children had secretly arranged a kitchen tour and meeting with Juan Mari.
"Juan offered me a position to learn his culinary greatness," she said.
Jan said highlights were the friendly staff, daily staff lunch and new techniques with dehydrated foods.
"Every day there would be a table set in the kitchen where special guests dined and given a tour of the kitchen, which had 20 working chefs," she said.
Jan also did a paella cooking class in a gypsy cave in Granada and researched Flamenco dancing in Spain.
