While he doesn't like to dwell on previous results for too long, this one clearly stung.
Murray was forced to settle for a draw when Langwarrin equalised in the seventh added minute against them back in round three.
Currently just seven points separate seventh-placed Murray and Langwarrin in fourth, so Saturday's return leg is huge in the context of the season.
Murray has slipped two games behind the sides immediately above them, and with finishing in the top-six a major priority for the club to remain in the second tier of Victorian competition, it's a must-win.
"It's pretty rare to still be talking about a round three result when you've got nine games to go, but that one was really raw for the players," Jones said.
"We felt like we did so much right in that game against a really good side in Langwarrin.
"We were desperate to get the points and they scored with the last kick of the game, which was quite heartbreaking.
"Whether we use that as some motivation is yet to be said.
"Their team is very different from then and we'd like to think we're much stronger as a unit.
"We go into the game full of confidence we can knock them off."

Despite it being one of the longest road trips in the league, Jones admitted these are the games Murray has to win if it wants to climb the ladder in the final stretch of the season.
"Last year we went down there and conceded a penalty in the last two minutes of the game, so it was certainly a long drive back that day," Jones said.
"It is a long trip, but we've always gone quite well on the road.
"If training is anything to go by, I was so happy with the way we trained last (Thursday) night.
"You know both teams will go out there and basically be talking about the same things going into the game with what we need to do to win, but I felt at training we really worked hard.
"The intensity and the effort from the boys, you could tell there was a little bit of fire and a bit of spark there.
"We know this is a big game and we're definitely not going to shy away from it, we really want to stand up and get it done this weekend."
Archie Thompson remains a week away with a hamstring strain, while Alex West copped a knock to his calf on his way back from injury and has been ruled out.
Josh Zito will move back into the starting lineup after being used off the bench last weekend.
"If it was anyone but Archie, you might think about risking bringing them back," Jones said.
"It's certainly tough not having Archie in the side, but we have to err on the side of caution with him, especially being a hammy.
"We've got the depth to cover those guys."
Kick-off is 3pm at Lawton Park Reserve.
