Wodonga detectives want to speak to three men they have identified as Kevin Kennedy, Nathan Sullivan and James Strauss - Kennedy and Sullivan are believed to be connected.
They are wanted for questioning over burglaries businesses such as a bottle shop, hairdresser and takeaway store during the week, then further break-ins at both Wodonga and Albury businesses on Thursday night.
Police also believe the men may have been involved in petrol drive-off incidents and evading police on the Victorian side of the border.
Wodonga Acting Inspector Garry Barton has called for public help to locate the three men.
"We believe they're potentially involved in a spate of crime in the Wodonga area. We're after friends, family associates - anyone who's got information to contact Crime Stoppers," he said.
"If the males want to surrender themselves, then we ask for that as well."
The men can be idenitified as they are also wanted on outstanding warrants for charges such as breaching bail.
"Some of their behaviour is starting to escalate," Acting Inspector Barton said.
"It's a whole raft of charges and we need to go through it meticulously."
Police also released images of the three wanted men.
"LIke most offenders, they're avoiding contact with us and we are actively out looking for them now," Acting Inspector Barton said.
"We're actively out searching, we're working with NSW to identify where their location is."
Intencity at Albury Recent Cinema is believed to be one of the businesses hit on Thursday night, with repairs needed to a smashed glass front door on Friday.
Murray River Detective Acting Inspector David Forland said the Albury incidents included break and enter and stealing cars, committed at night between the hours of 12am to 5am.
"The investigations are serious, they involve break and enters to commercial premises and stolen cars," he said.
He said the evidence would determine if charges are laid, but he believed NSW was hunting for the same three men as Victoria.
But Acting Inspector Forland did not believe the men were dangerous.
"It's not uncommon for our teams to work together and find a resolution to these type of continued offences," he said. "We're working closely with Wodonga to bring this to an end."
Anyone with information can contact Wodonga detectives on (02) 6049 2700, Albury police station on (02) 6023 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
