A project of the Master Builders Association Albury-Wodonga branch and the Albury Education Office, the event explore starting an apprenticeship, with 14 trades to be represented.
Senior education officer Jane Mackinlay said the groups felt a lack of knowledge about trades contributed to recruiting challenges.
More information about the evening, to be held on August 7 at Commercial Club Albury between 6pm and 8.30pm, will be distributed through schools next term.

Ms Mackinlay said the forum would be open to secondary school students as well as young adults looking for a start in the industry.
But she emphasised the value of teenagers aged 14 to 17 years attending and getting information sooner rather than later.
"Not when you're on the cusp of leaving school but when you are starting to think about 'What could I do?'," she said.
"Our workplaces in the future are going to require really agile-thinking people who are willing to continue to learn as they go.
"The skills that you can learn through taking on a trade are just that really crucial platform and gives you skills and abilities that will take you anywhere you need to go."
