The Lions moved from ninth into seventh spot after their eight goal win to trial sixth-placed Holbrook by six points.
Culcairn coach Cara Geddes said it was pleasing to produce a strong performance and remain in the mix for a finals berth.

"We are hanging in there by a thread but it still gives us a bit of a sniff of making finals," Geddes said.
"Our form has been a bit ordinary for the past month but hopefully we can take a lot of confidence out of the win.
"The girls just backed each other today and we were able to get the result we were after."
Geddes said the most pleasing aspect of the win was how the home side was able to find another gear with the match up for grabs at the last change.
"We really got on top in that last-quarter," she said.
"We were actually even at the last change.
"But we really ran away with the game in that last-quarter which we haven't been able to do very often this season.
"We have had a lot of close games but haven't been able to step-up when the match is there to be won."
Georgia Way and Claudia Wright were the home sides best.
Wright relished a switch to wing defence from wing attack for the first time this season.
Shelbie Sands is set to return after the bye.
