The first loss of the season for Corowa-Rutherglen now puts the Roos and Panthers equal on 12 wins.
Lavington took control of the game early against the Rovers, with a strong performance coming from defenders Steph Clancy and Heidi Fisher.
Panthers' coach Tamara Mathews praised her side for their ability to adapt and change during the game.
"The most pleasing thing was that we recognised when things weren't working for us and were able to adapt and change in the moment," Mathews said.
"Every week we come up against a different team and they all play so differently.
"A lot of teams are familiar with how we play, so we need to change what we're doing to beat our opponents.
"We're really happy with how we moved the ball and were able to try some different combinations."
Sarah Senini shot 36-goals for the home side, while Jenna Mcleod and Briony Simpson were the best in defence for the Rovers.
In other games on Saturday, the Wodonga derby was taken out by the Raiders at Martin Park, 53-28.
Shaylah House was one of the best for the visitors with 21-goals, while Brooke Pryse was solid in the midcourt.
Maddie McFarlane and Laura Collins were the standouts for the Bulldogs.
At Bunton Park, the Tigers showed their might to defeat the Hoppers in the Albury derby.
20-goals was the margin, with Albury's Jess Fisher-Curnow shooting 39.
She was well supported in the ring by fellow shooter Emily Rodd.
Natalie Heagney, Elyse Boyer and Kirby Hilton all put forward strong displays for the Hoppers.
And Yarrawonga claimed their seventh win of the season defeating Myrtleford by 37-goals at McNamara Reserve.
Lily Sharp and Rebecca Carlyle were the Pigeon's best, while Saint's shooter Saige Broz also had a good game.
