The home side looked headed for a crucial win in its bid to play finals before conceding the final two tries of the match.
Coach Paul Musarra said it was a disappointing finish.
"It wasn't acceptable the way we finished," Musarra said.
"Our decision making was poor.
"We had control at the start of the game but then just couldn't lift."
Shaun Coel had a good game for the Steamers, while Sam Allen and Benn Reid continue to lift each week for the home side.
While Musarra is hopeful a top four finish is still on the cards for the Steamers, he admits the weekend's loss will make it more of an uphill battle from here on out.
"It will put a bit more pressure on us now," Musarra said.
