The move to hold the annual school, which includes vocal and performance development, mentoring and coaching, in winter is part of a strategy to define the North East as "opera central" in regional Australia.
The school was previously held in summer ahead of Opera in the Alps.
Australian Music Events and Opera Scholars Australia directors Graeme Wall and Margot Cory-Wall separated the two activities after a chance arose to reshape Opera in the Alps as one of the country's leading celebrations of culture, place and season from next year.
The Voices in Twilight concert will run at the historic Anglican Christ Church on Saturday.
Opera Scholars Australia's 20 young performers returned to Beechworth on Sunday for the Opera Winter School Week.
MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:
The week-long program included sessions open to the community such as vocal coaching, a discussion and cameo performances by Australian tenor John Bolton-Wood and a jam session with the pub choir at the Empire Hotel.
An opera school holiday children's workshop will run on Friday at 11am in the Memorial Hall. It's free but reservations are welcome.
The Voices in the Twilight ticketed concert will feature ensemble performances such as the famed Abendsegen from Hansel and Gretel by German 19th century composer Engelbert Humperdinck and works by Sondheim, Verdi, Johann Strauss, Puccini, Offenbach and Gilbert and Sullivan.
The scholars would perform after the concert at an open mic session in Tanswell's Commercial Hotel.
