Highway patrol police at Holbrook spotted the Ford Ranger travelling south along the Hume Highway at high speed toward Albury at about 6:30am.
Even after his tyres were deflated by police road spikes, the pursuit continued for another two kilometres before the driver eventually lost control and the car came to a stop in the centre median strip in the mud.
Snapchat video shows the moment the car hit the spikes as it goes past police cars with their lights activated.
In the next clip, the loud sound of the flat tyres continuing to drive along the highway is clearly audible.
