This week's under-21 national championships at Lismore has ruled out Noah Erdeljac and Oscar Smart, while Jeremy Payne is on the trip as an assistant coach.

Dom Wild is in Scotland for three weeks, while Andrew Monte is also unavailable.

Fortunately for co-coach Tony Donnolley, he has some experienced heads he can turn to.

Striker Jeremy Maggs will make his first appearance for the season, while Josh Pritchard is also likely to come back in.

"They're both more than good enough to be playing, they just can't find the time," Donnolley said.

"Hopefully they might get the bug again and want to keep going."

The Spitfires produced one of their best performances of the season against United back in round nine with a 3-0 triumph at home and enter the second clash in strong form after demolishing St Patrick's 4-0 last start.

"Last week we were all over St Pats, but just couldn't put enough away," Donnolley said.

"We started getting a bit greedy and holding onto it a bit too long.

"If we can do what we want to do, pass it early and play as a team, I think we can beat them.

"They've got a few out with the under-21s as well and I think their few are going to hurt them more than ours will hurt us."

The match starts at 12.30pm.

It's also a home game for the Spitfires women against United, starting immediately after the men at 2pm.

Fresh from a silver medal in the FIH pro league, Hockeyroo Jocelyn Bartram will be in town to cheer on both sides.

Meanwhile, in Sunday's Hockey Albury-Wodonga division one men's and women's matches, Wodonga takes on Norths and Wombats meet Falcons at Albury Hockey Centre.

United comes up against Magpies at Wodonga Hockey Centre.
