The former Essendon VFL player will return to the state league on Sunday for a one-off appearance with Frankston against Box Hill.
Muller has been named at full-forward, but could find himself in the ruck against former Wodonga Raider Jonathan Ceglar, who is pushing to get his spot back at Hawthorn.
"I've been talking to them for a while and got an opportunity to have a crack again at the VFL," Muller said.
"I can bring some stuff back to the boys at North Albury.
"It's a good opportunity to get another good run in the legs while I'm still going alright.
"Ideally I'll play in the forward line, but if Ceglar is dominating like he has been, I might go to him."

North Albury had its pre-season camp at Frankston and Muller has spent time in the Dolphins' coaches box the past two years.
"I've got a good relationship with the coaches and past coaches as well," he said.
"We're constantly pushing our players' names to Frankston."
Muller is still yet to meet with North Albury officials to discuss his coaching future at Bunton Park.
Meanwhile, Lavington's Shaun Mannagh, Yarrawonga's Mark Whiley and Wangaratta Rovers' Nathan Cooper have been selected to play for AFL Victoria Country against the VAFA at IKON Park on Saturday.
Since 1993, Vic Country has taken the Brian Molony Cup title seven times, while the VAFA is at six wins.
