The Bandits felt the might of top of the table side Bendigo on Friday night suffering a 45-point loss at Bendigo Stadium.
The home side was dominant on the scoreboard with a spread of players scoring, while Emilee Harman was the Bandits' leading scorer in the clash with 12-points.
Things didn't get much better for the Bandits' on Saturday, going down by just three points to the Dandenong Rangers at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre, with star guard Nat Hurst ruled out of the clash due to injury.
Despite big games coming from Jessie Edwards and Hanna Zavecz, the Bandits' squandered their opportunity to cement themselves in the competition's top eight.
"Overall it was a bit disappointing," Bandits' point guard Emma Mahady said.
"We probably didn't play our best basketball.
"Bendigo are one of the best teams in this competition and they definitely showed that on Friday night."
The combination of losses for the Bandits' and wins by other teams in the NBL1 competition has seen the home side drop just out of the top eight to claim ninth position.
With just one round remaining for the season before finals, the Bandits' final game against the Knox Raiders will help determine whether they can squeeze back into the mix.
"We're always still looking to finals, but after our loss to Dandenong it's a bit out of our control," Mahady said.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"We still want to finish the season off with a win against Knox.
"With a win we're still statistically able to make finals, but there's still a lot of other factors that will come into play.
"It's made things a little bit complicated."
The Bandits are currently locked on wins and losses with eighth placed Waverley Falcons.
Knox Raiders sit fifth in the standings and will travel to the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre on Saturday for the final round of the season.
