To celebrate the occasion, Charles Sturt University has unearthed decades of photos from their formation and before.
CSU came to be when Border-based Riverina-Murray Institute of Higher Education and Bathurst's Mitchell College of Advanced Education merged.

Initially Charles Sturt University had only campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Wagga, with its Border-based home in central Albury.
In 1993, the university purchases a $6 million greenfield site in Thurgoona and moved the campus from central Albury. The move to Thurgoona was complete in 2003.
