Charles Sturt University is celebrating its 30th birthday, with celebration on Wednesday marking three decades since the university was formed in 1989.
To celebrate the occasion, Charles Sturt University has unearthed decades of photos from their formation and before.
CSU came to be when Border-based Riverina-Murray Institute of Higher Education and Bathurst's Mitchell College of Advanced Education merged.

Initially Charles Sturt University had only campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Wagga, with its Border-based home in central Albury.
In 1993, the university purchases a $6 million greenfield site in Thurgoona and moved the campus from central Albury. The move to Thurgoona was complete in 2003.
