Muller is scheduled to meet with club officials who are set to inform him of his coaching future.
The Hoppers earlier this season appointed Albury Racing Club chief Steve Hetherton as football operations manager.
Hetherton alongside committee member Allan Gallaway have conducted an extensive review of the football department and have made their recommendations to the board.
"We are meeting with Isaac on Wednesday night but there is not much more I can tell you," North Albury president Tony Burns said.
Muller raised plenty of eyebrows over the weekend after he elected to play a one-off match with VFL outfit Frankston with the O&M having a general bye.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Burns said Muller had approached the club with the bizarre request which was then ticked off by the committee.
"We didn't have an issue after being approached by Isaac," he said.
"We are trying to build a strong connection with Frankston and had part of our pre-season down there.
"We felt it was a good opportunity for Isaac's development both as a player and as a coach to be involved at a higher level.
"It went through the committee and it wasn't like it was just a spur of the moment decision."
Muller was able to play for Frankston under a little known rule which allows VFL clubs to make list changes up until the conclusion of the home and away season.
The first-year coach replaced an injured player on the Frankston list and didn't require a clearance from the Hoppers.
Muller booted two goals from limited opportunities for bottom-placed Frankston, which was eventually overpowered by the Box Hill Hawks.
Box Hill boasted several Hawthorn senior-listed players including Jarryd Roughead and Jonathon Ceglar and up-and-coming trio Jacob Koschitzke, Harry Jones and Matt Walker, who were drafted from the region.
Muller, who previously played at VFL level for Essendon, can play for Frankston again when the Hoppers have their next bye on August 10.
After being widely touted as wooden spooners, North Albury has won two matches under its rookie coach and face Wodonga on Saturday.
