Chiltern will come alive for its fourth annual Jam Session Weekend at six venues throughout town.
Organisers said the Chiltern Jam Session Weekend would appeal to all musos, whether they played rock 'n' roll, blues, folk, electric or acoustic.
Spokeswoman Marianne O'Connor said musicians could bring a garage band or join other jammers.
"Musicians of any standard are welcome to join in the variety of jam sessions," she said.
"People can move around or stay in one place."
The streetscape has been festooned with colourful yarn bombing made by a team of crocheters and knitters.
Open mics will run consecutively throughout town.
Listeners are welcome and buskers are encouraged.
