It comes after the seventh placed Hoppers shock loss to Wangaratta Rovers just one week prior.
Tayla Vogel put forward a strong display in the midcourt, while Hopper teammates Natalie Heagney and Elyse Boyer were also dominant in the win.
Sarah Meredith and Sarah Senini were the pick for the Panthers at either ends of the court, with Gabbie Star shooting 19-goals in her second game in A-grade this season.
Wodonga Raiders also almost staged a major upset during the weekend, getting within four goals of ladder leaders Corowa-Rutherglen at Birallee Park.
Roos goal shooter Grace Senior was restricted to 29-goals for the day, while Ella Kingston, Brooke Bice and Sophie Hanrahan put forward standout performances for the visitors.
Shooter Zoe Rae was at her best for the Raiders, while Marney Gorman worked tirelessly in defence.
In the third Ovens and Murray game for the split round, Wangaratta posted a dominant 40-goal win against Myrtleford in Wangaratta on Saturday.
Hannah Grady was strong in the defensive end for the Magpies, while Isabelle Byrne had a good game in the midcourt.
Defenders Rebecca Piazza and Sophie Cappellari were the pick of the bunch for Myrtleford.
Despite last year's premiers continuing their strong form to hold down second spot in the competition, Wangaratta coach Kellie Keen said her side still has areas for improvement heading into finals this season.
"We were a little scrappy in patches," Keen said.
"We're building and obviously have a couple of games left before finals, so we just want to continue and not peak too early.
"We're still working on bits and pieces that we want to pull out of games, so there were things we did during the game that we hadn't been doing."
After the split round Corowa-Rutherglen are still the benchmark in the competition holding onto top spot just one game clear of Wangaratta.
They're followed by Lavington who now have three losses for the season, with Wodonga Raiders and Yarrawonga rounding out the competition's top five.
The remaining games for the split round will see Wodonga Bulldogs take on Wangaratta Rovers, while Albury will host Yarrawonga next weekend.
Following that just two rounds remain before finals get underway.
