With both sides agreeing to play a shortened second-half to avoid injuries, the Bulldogs ran-out convincing 23.9 (147) to 2.0 (12) victors.
Snow fell before the match with Bullioh co-coach Hamish Clark pleased to come through the day unscathed.
"It was a pretty good hit-out," Clark said.
"It was obviously really cold, but the ground was in good condition and we got something out of it.
"We kicked really straight in the first-half.
"It was a good win."
Bullioh dominated at ground level with Clark, Josh Walters and Ben Commins at their damaging best.
Spearhead Ash Murray kicked six goals to finish the home and away series with 135 majors.
Tumbarumba kicked its only two goals in the opening term with Cameron Johnston, James Crozier and Nic Langley playing well.
Cudgewa also had an impressive warm-up for the second semi-final, blitzing Federal by 228 points at Corryong.
Blues' coach Brayden Carey wanted a full dress rehearsal before the finals and that's what he got with Mitch Pynappels, Luke Bloom and David Low starring.
Low was returning from a back injury which threatened to derail his season.
"It was good to have David back," Carey said. "He got through and pulled up well."
Spearhead Ben Hall fell just short of his century kicking nine majors while Dayne Carey and Adam Healy booted seven and six respectively.
Federal played with only 15 players with big Keiran Brennan missing.
"We wanted a solid hit-out before the finals and I thought we got that," Carey said.
"It's going to be hard to pick a side for the first week of the finals but that's the position you want to be in."
Tom McKimmie and Andrew Saliba continued their good form for Federal.
Cam Sheather was another to stand up for the besieged Swans.
Corryong proved too strong for winless Border-Walwa.
The Demons have already started planning for next season with the club advertising for a coach to take over from Peter Jeffries.
Jeffries took over from long-time mentor Evan Nicholas during the home and away series.
Federal will host Tumbarumba in this weekend's first semi-final.
Steve Fouracre's side ran-out convincing winners earlier this month and will start favourites in the knock-out match.
