Gundagai Visitor Information Centre will hold a party on August 17 to "celebrate the return of our much loved Aussie icon, the Dog on the Tuckerbox".

"The celebrations will run from 9am to 1pm with a great line up of entertainment, market stalls, live music and more," the centre said.
The statue was pushed over in a vandalism attack late last month.
The party will feature regional food and wine and children's activities.

As of August 11, the dog statute had yet to be returned to its mount on the tuckerbox.
Gundagai mayor Abb McAlister and state member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke will officially address the crowd at the event which runs from 9am.
The celebration will feature market stalls and live music throughout the morning and early afternoon, with official speeches occurring at 10am.
