HOPPER MILESTONE
Wodonga recruit Kaine Parsons notched his 100 match milestone with the Hoppers last weekend. Parsons provides a focal point in attack and is averaging almost three goals a match playing predominantly across half-forward. His form in finals will have a big say in how deep the Hoppers progress in September.
SLICK RICK
Chiltern co-coach Ricky Whitehead has answered his critics in devastating fashion. Despite kicking 122 goals for the season, some critics were quick to highlight his performances against finals contenders. "Rick's kicked seven against the best side in the competition in the worst conditions of the year. I wonder what his critics think now?," co-coach Luke Brookes said.
COOKIE SHOULD'VE COOKED
It turned out being an expensive Sunday session last week for Barnawartha coach Peter Cook and it wasn't at the pub. After the Tigers secured a top-three finish against Kiewa, the generous Cook offered to shout the side an egg and bacon roll and coffee each after their recovery at Noreuil Park the following day. "They cafe said they would look after me but charged $10 an egg and bacon roll and knocked 50c each off the coffee's. It cost me $400 to shout," Cook said.
