Daffodil Day on Friday, August 23, will include sites at Albury Base Hospital, Bunnings Albury, Lavington Square, Myer Centrepoint, West End Plaza and possibly Terry White Pharmacy if enough volunteers are available.
The day had raised money for cancer research for 33 years however in recent years totals had been less but costs remained the same.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Cancer Council western NSW community relations co-ordinator Brianna Carracher said feedback indicated supporters would prefer to simply donate money.
"Merchandise is also very expensive to create, transport and store, and we want to raise funds in the most cost-effective way," she said.
Some locations may have items to sell from previous years but from 2020 all NSW Daffodil Day sites will stock fresh daffodils and pins only.
More contactless devices will also be available if donors aren't carrying cash.
