Dayne Reeve's appeal in Wodonga County Court on Friday was refused and he was put back into custody to continue serving the rest of his three months in jail.
Judge Greg Lyon handed down his verdict with a message that men are assaulting or harassing women on a daily basis, despite court orders trying to protect them.
Reeve's jealousy had forced his ex-girlfriend to take out an intervention order last year.
Crown prosecutor Andrew Moore said the persistent breaches of the order started just days after he was sentenced in October for a previous assault.
"He flouted that order by bombarding the complainant with phone calls and text messages," he said.
MORE NEWS FROM COURT:
The situation came to a head on January 8 when, after a day of drinking, Reeve went to the woman's house in a jealous rage.
She called her father for help and when he arrived, the ex-boyfriend threatened to kill them.
He then threw a punch at the father and the pair got into a fight, where Reeve was left with a blood nose.
As the victims went outside to call triple zero, Reeve followed, armed with a glass bottle, but decided against using the weapon.
He served 30 days in custody on remand before he was released on bail.
Reeve's barrister Alan Marshall argued this was enough time as his client had stopped drinking and started the men's behaviour change program.
Judge Lyon said not only did Reeve reoffend immediately after being sentenced last time, he then assaulted someone protecting a woman "from your ugly, constant, intrusive behaviour".
"Prevalence of family violence in our community is at epidemic proportions. Family violence orders are made to keep women safe, yet these orders seem to fail women on a daily basis," he said.
"Mr Reeve, how much more of a gift do you want?
"You were given a chance and you absolutely tossed it away ... Your change has come too late."
