City only trailed 2-1 after 75 minutes, before a final flurry from Patties saw them pile on five goals in the dying stages to win comfortably and put themselves in the box seat for the title.
Claire Mahoney continued her stellar form with a four-goal haul, while Isabella Barbaro, Ashlyn Ridgeway and Alex Freire also found the back of the net for Patties.
St Pats will now take a three-point buffer and superior goal difference into its final round clash against Wangaratta after neatest rivals Albury United went down 3-1 to Melrose at Melrose Park.

The Greens were level on points with the ladder leaders heading into the weekend, but with their two-goal loss and Patties winning by six, the goal difference is now 10 between the sides.
Melrose didn't get through the contest unscathed with goalkeeper Rachael Reitano injury her finger in the second half.
Wangaratta scored a 2-1 win against Boomers at South Wangaratta Reserve to move within a point of United in second.
Bella Gigliotti and Alice Townsend scored for the Red Devils.
Wangaratta heads to Alexandra Park to take on St Pats in the final round next weekend, Boomers meet Albury City, while Melrose and Albury United clash again.
