Only a week after being trounced by 228 points, the Swans were a different side as big-men Jordan Wakeling and Keiran Brennan took control.

Wakeling kicked eight goals in a best afield showing while Brennan dominated the ruck.

"Jordan's had a really good second-half of the season for us," Fouracre said.

"When Kieran comes over from Cooma, it gives us a bit of flexibility.

"They were both really good on Saturday."

The Swans raced to a 37-point lead at quarter-time with Tom McKimmie, Andy Saliba and Cameron Sheather dominating at ground level.

In a good sign, the home team ran the game out well kicking seven goals to none in the final term.

"We started well," Fouracre said.

"There was a focus on that with everyone having a role to play.

"We aren't a side who can have 10 contributors, we need all 20 doing their bit.

"We had a full list and put together four good quarters of footy."

Federal will meet either Cudgewa or Bullioh in the preliminary final.

The Swans lost to Cudgewa by 228 points earlier this month with Fouracre under no illusions about the enormity of the challenge ahead.

"We haven't got within 25 goals of either side but I'd like to think we can go close if we play our best footy though," Fouracre said.

"There is a lot of belief among the group.

"There is no pressure on us at all.

"We will just throw everything at them and see how we go."

Tumbarumba coach Mitch Fennessy will step down from the helm after two seasons to return to home club Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.

While Fennessy was disappointed with Saturday's result, he said the season had been a major success.

"We have gone from winning one game to playing finals," Fennessy said.

"I was really happy with the year.

"The club is in a good spot."

Cam Johnston was solid in defence and on the ball, Quinn Rooney won plenty of possessions and Mick Foster kicked three goals.

Zane Litchfield and Darcy Rixon were also solid contributors.

"Federal's big players killed us," he said.

"That was the difference in the end.

"Even though we lost by 100 points, we had enough footy to win."
