ALBURY Council is under pressure to re-ignite the creation of a cycle and pedestrian path from Lavington to Jindera.
Albury will soon consider the option of joining forces with neighbouring Greater Hume for the idea first floated in 2009.
Councillors were briefed on the plan this week, but were reminded significant environmental challenges remain on the section located within the Albury local government area to make it reality.
Staff member Steve Millett told councillors the project no longer appeared in the council's four-year delivery program with the cost to council estimated to be $3.5 million.
The Jindera Gap is a popular cycle route, but conditions for motorists and cyclists is considered highly dangerous.
