In July, the Presbyterian Church in Yerong Creek was put up for sale after attempts to revive dwindling attendance numbers failed.
The local progress association is currently determining whether the community could buy the property.
But it's not the only Riverina house of God up for sale. Here's a look at just a few places of worship in the region that could be yours.
Saint John's Anglican Church, Tallimba
56 Tallimba Street, Tallimba
A little over six decades after it came into being, Tallimba's church sits empty and ready for a new lease on life. The Anglican church was built in 1958 and the brick and tile shell is the perfect starting point for a very 2019 conversion. It'll be sold with no inclusions or stained glass windows, but don't let that deter you. Pack your bags, load up the moving van, saddle the horses - whatever it takes.
Old Barmedman Church
10-22 Queen Street, Barmedman
If you've ever driven through Barmedman, odds are this high-roofed former house of God has caught your attention. The unique building has already been converted into a home with three bedrooms, open-plan living and a bathroom a combined laundry and bathroom. It's set on a huge 2024sqm and much of the outdoor living must-haves have already been started - shed, entertainment area with open fireplace, car port.
Former Convent, Ardlethan
33 Mithul Street, Ardlethan
Once upon a time this brick beauty was a Catholic convent, dating back to 1916 and officially opened in 1922. It's now a six-bedroom, two-bathroom home that still boasts a host of the stunning original features - think floorboards, fireplaces, mantles, breathtaking stained glass windows and ornate ceilings. Keep all the space to yourself or turn it into a business venture, B&B-style, the choice is yours.
Saint Dunstan's Anglican Church, Ungarie
8 Mackrell Street, Ungarie
Some might balk at the idea of living in an old church but for others, it's a dream come true. The foundation stone for Ungarie's old Anglican church, St Dunstan's, was laid in 1922 and was finished and licensed in September 1924. Almost a century later, it's in need of a new owner. It's huge inside, with beautiful high ceilings you could do wonders with in the future - just let your imagination run wild.
