It comes after Senini was ruled out for the remainder of the season after injuring her knee in the first quarter of the Panthers' game against Myrtleford.

Scans indicate Senini has broken the top of her fibula and crushed the top corner of her tibia after a severe hyperextension.

However the goal shooter was relieved to not have ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament for the second time.

Round 17 hasn't been kind to Senini who suffered her first season ending knee injury almost 10 years to the day during the same round of the 2009 season.

The first occurred on August 15 while the second a decade later on August 17, both effecting her left leg.

Despite not being able to run out with the Panthers come finals time, Senini has put things into perspective to adopt a positive outlook.

"I'm disappointed but I'm realistic in the fact that it's just a knee injury and not life and death," Senini said.

"When you put it into perspective there's worse things you could be going through.

"I was pretty relieved that it wasn't ligament damage, because that's obviously such a long term recovery.

"I'm in a good head space, I'm happy and I'm healthy."

The long-time Panther has surpassed 250 A-grade games and shot 420 goals this season and hopes to rejoin the ranks next season.

Senini will now join fellow shooter Skye Hillier on the sidelines who is nursing an Achilles injury.

The third placed Panthers will also be without grand final players Kate Yensch and Rhiannon Dolahenty after pregnancy kept them off court this season, while Ainslee O'Connell relocated for work.

Gabbie Star is set to continue to control a shooting position heading into finals, while it's undetermined whether Maggie Young will line-up in goals or defence.

While Senini admits the Panthers' injury situation isn't ideal, she believes they shouldn't be written off.

"Obviously it's a big ask, but with the calibre of players we have, I don't think we should be written off just yet," Senini said.

"Other teams aren't really going to know what to expect from us because it's a bit unknown.

"It's exciting to watch how Gabbie will grow from this.

"I have no doubt that she has the ability."

The Panthers will have a good indication of how they're tracking heading into finals with a last round clash against top side Corowa-Rutherglen on Saturday.

The last time the two sides met the Roos came out triumphant by 12-goals with Senini and Hillier both on court.

"If the girls can have a go and get within reach, they really have nothing to lose," Senini said.
