The end of the Griffith Road outlet, which was opened by basketballer Lauren Jackson in 2005, is tied to falling transactions.
A spokesman said with the lease on the building expiring it was decided it would be more viable to shut the site and consolidate business at the Albury branch in Dean Street.
Hamilton Valley retiree and Bendigo Bank client of more than 20 years Lorna Thompson is upset at the move.
"I'm furious, I'm absolutely livid," Mrs Thompson said.
"It is definitely an inconvenience to me, but I've got a car and there are a lot of elderly people that bank there.
"There's people that live at Jindera and Walla and they travel in and it is the closest branch and they would have trouble parking at the branch in Dean Street."
Following the Bendigo Bank's move, Cr King said: "Unless regional councils like Albury support these community organisations then this is what is going to happen.
"Anything that takes jobs away from people and takes services away from people is a bad thing."
It is unclear if all staff will lose their jobs.
"The merger of the Lavington branch is scheduled for mid-October, and as such, we are still in the process of identifying continuing employment opportunities within the bank for our staff," the spokesman said.
