The lightly raced mare had every chance when resuming from a break on her home track on August 20 when unable to collar leader RNR Windermere in the run to the line.
Seven days later, driver Cameron Hart again took a trail behind the pacemaker but no clear run presented when others were sweeping by and the mare finished only fifth to Hows The Memory.
Now back to mares only class, Fiore Stride has residual fitness on her side and is drawn to suit (gate two) in Race 2 at 2.52pm.
Menangle Quaddie comment - September 3
Race 5
HEZA CONMAN (Brad Abbott): Unplaced past 24 starts but better effort last time 3 pegs 8m 7th Hurrikane Poker Aug 13. Top driver change may help.
MACH ANGELO (Michael Teuma): Enjoyed good trail when 26m 4th Father Bob at Bankstown Aug 23. Has 1 win from 37 and better suited at provincials. Place.
BENTLY BULLET (Philip Willis): 4yo with only 6 starts and 1 placing on debut. Looks a long way out of his depth here.
PHIL BROMAC (Rickie Alchin): Has some excuse in all 3 unplaced Penrith runs since coming from NZ. Recent trial here indicates a better showing is on the cards.
KIWI STRIDE (Noel Daley): Showed promise in only five 2yo starts. Not raced since last Centenario in Breeders Crown heat Kilmore Aug 8, 2018. Market best guide.
FATHER BOB (Mark Fletcher): Led and dashed away with odds-on 1:59.8 win Bankstown 1740m Aug 23. This tougher but impressed last time. Commands attention.
HURRIKANE POKER (Amanda Turnbull): Ex Kiwi 6yo winner 2 from 6. Led at Australian debut for slow 1:57.5 mile win here Aug 13. This no harder and look for a repeat.
BLACK EIGHT (Leon Jurd): Former Victorian restrained at first run for stable and never likely 26m last Hows The Memory here Aug 27. Will be an improver.
Race 6
ANNIE MATILDA (Mark Fletcher): Handy country 9yo mare who is badly graded against some of these. Has the job ahead.
SHANOCON (Kerry McDowell): Settled behind leader/winner when 34m 6th to rising star Balraj (1:51.9) here last week. Another terribly graded here.
IDEAL STAR (Tim Butt): Ran a terrific race making ground in 25.6 sprint home for 24m 2nd Balraj here last week. Worth a great deal of thought on last run.
BETTORS POCKET (Kerry McDowell): Did not win in 20 runs last season, latest always well back 33m 5th Balraj last week. Placed 2 of previous 3 here. Place.
DARKERSHADEOFPALE (Craig Cross): Fast 5yo mare back from brief Qld assault. Look to cross here with options and should figure in the finish.
TEAM OF STARZZZ (Tiarn Sutton): Forget 10th to Lord Zin Zan in 26.5 sprint home after flashing photo 2nd My Major Rocket (1:53.7) here Aug 17. Needs luck.
SMOKEY QUARTZ (KerryAnn Morris): Began fast and worked to lead in 26.2 before 14m 7th Lord Zin Zan (1:53.6) last week. Will be tougher to run down with an easier lead.
ADMIRAL BRONSKI (Craig Cross): Caught the eye first-up 7m 7th Thunder Dancer (1:52.7) in Group 3 here Aug 24. Fitter and drops in class. Hard to beat.
Race 7
EVERYTHING (Leon Jurd): Produced a much better effort making ground from last on turn 6m 3rd Untitled (1:52.3) here last week. Must be considered.
LIVELY HERO (Ian Wilson): Restrained as usual and driven for luck 7m 7th The Maldives here 2300m Aug 20. Can cause an upset with right run.
OUR MISSIONARY MAN (Leon Jurd): Racing well below best. Had beautiful run behind leader 7m 6th Untitled last week. Hard to fancy on latest efforts.
TWO PLY (Joe Mauro): Will Rixon): Over-raced in front 12m 4th Fortyeighthenson Bankstown 2140m Aug 23. Never far away and can win this open race.
INTRANSIT (Steve Turnbull): Restrained and doing best work late without threatening 7m 5th Untitled last week. Always a chance against these.
DON BOSTON (Brad Abbott): Gave a great sight in front and caught late head 2nd Untitled (1:52.3) last week. Will take a power of running down again.
A PASSION FOR ACES (Paul Russo): Winner past 2 provincial claimers from outside the leader. Incredible 12yo claimer with 23 wins here. Versatile and should go close.
THE IDES OR MARCH (Shane Sanderson): Yet to win here in 12 starts and has had his chances. Fast beginner but may struggle here with speed inside.
Race 8
STAR WRITER (Steve Turnbull): Behind leader from this alley and every chance hd 2nd Elroy Jetson last week. Drawn to show up again.
FOREVER TEXAS (Peter Rixon): Restrained 4 pegs 9m 7th Untitled last week. Struggling of late but does do better this trip. May place.
FAT PROPHET (KerryAnn Morris): Was 4 pegs closing 3m 4th Elroy Jetson last week. Bobs up now and then at big odds with luck in running.
DREAM TO SHARE (Amanda Turnbull): Drops to a claimer for the first time and rates highly on 4 pegs 12m 3rd Lord Zin Zan (1:53.6) last week.
OH I AM THE ONE (Malcolm Locke): Fast beginner. Close up twice since 4m 2nd The Bettormack 2300m here Aug 13. Should cross here and be hard to run down.
ARTHUR LOWE (Paul Fitzpatrick): Fast early and could get behind leader. Always handy head 3rd Elroy Jetson last week at first claimer race. Go well.
ELROY JETSON (Leon Jurd): Enjoyed soft run 3 pegs before inside run to win 1:54.2. All the breaks went his way last week and will find this harder.
DEANO ROBYN (Ian Wilson): Backmarker with a strong finish and will appreciate this trip. Excellent 8m 3rd Under Worked here 2 runs back. Each-way.
UNTITLED (Shane Sanderson): Ran 2nd Jonah Jones here before running down Don Boston in 1:52.3 last week. Will find this harder.
HES OKEY DOKEY (Leon Jurd): Prolific winner this grade. Doing best work late from rear 5m 6th Elroy Jetson Aug 27. Extra trip suits. Big chance.
CONTROVERSIAL (Dennis Upton): Always rearward in 55.5 sprint homer when 12m 9th Elroy Jetson last week. Racing well and like above will appreciate the distance.
