A heavy ice user who helped to steal $30,000 worth of goods from his housemate made a false report to police claiming he had nothing to do with it.

But Dylan Wells' story fell apart when he was found inside the White Box Rise property after being booted out, holding onto the victim's stolen watches.
The Wodonga drug dealer had claimed to have been staying at a motel with a woman he'd met on Tinder before going camping at Beechworth, and returning to find the victim's car stolen and property missing.

His story didn't add up, with security camera footage from the Kelliher Avenue home showing four men committing the burglary and Wells returning at a different time than he claimed.
There were several holes in his story.
The burglars, who struck in the early hours of May 20, took the victim's LandRover, four racing bikes including one worth $9000, camping and snow gear, clothing and other personal items.
The 24-year-old admitted to lying in his statement and told police he had been using $300 of meth a day with the victim.
The pair would go on drug benders lasting for days and he admitted to drug dealing, which he said may have led people to become upset with him and target him.
But he denied the break-in.
Wells was kicked out of the home and told he wasn't welcome back, but was found in the home five days after the burglary.
He was shocked when the victim's friend went to check on the home and found him inside.
Police were called and the victim's two watches, which had been stolen during the break-in, were found in his hand, which ultimately linked him to the burglary.
He was charged with burglary and theft, and also faced charges relating to drug dealing and perjury.
The Wodonga Magistrates Court this week heard Wells had been battling drug issues for 13 years.
"Your honour, the issue here is a drug problem," lawyer Anette Fassioms said of her client's offending.
She told magistrate Ian Watkins that Wells had been keeping bad company.
"The company that he's chosen to keep,' Mr Watkins replied.
Wells had been arrested after arriving at court on Monday.
He was taken into custody after breaching the conditions of his bail.
Mr Watkins sentenced him to a three month prison term which will be followed by a community corrections order once he's released.
