At one stage in the third quarter, the wind gusted to 72kmh with rain and sunshine also at various times.
Lavington didn't kick a goal against the breeze, posting five in the second and final quarters.
"We started really well, our ball movement early in tricky conditions was good," Pies' coach Luke Morgan said.
The Panthers were superb in the third term, keeping the Pies goalless with the breeze.
"Conditions probably helped us, it was wet and quite blustery," Lavington coach Simon Curtis said.
