The league champions had a 3-1 lead at the break, with Alex Freire opening the scoring six minutes in.
City found the quick reply through Bree Sredojevic and it was game on.
The sides continued to exchange shots until St Pats star Claire Mahoney weaved her way through the middle of the park and finished to make it 2-1 in the 27th minute.
Mahoney then produced a stunning strike from the edge of the 18-yard box on the stroke of half-time to hand her side a handy lead.
St Pats struck the first blow of the second half with Mahoney bringing up her hat trick five minutes in when she headed home a free kick from Kate Fruend.

The game then took a bizarre turn when St Pats goalkeeper Natasha Anderson was accidentally contacted in the box and was subbed with a bloodied nose.
After a 10-minute delay, the ball went down the other end with Issy Barbaro nailing St Pats' fifth, but City keeper Brogan Broadway injured her ankle in a desperate attempt to block the shot.
A further seven minutes was used to assess the injury and make the substitution.
St Pats saw out the remaining minutes of the interrupted second half to set up a date with Wangaratta in the cup final next Sunday.
"It's definitely my first as a senior player. The last grand final I played was probably when I was 12," Mahoney said after the game.
"I'm really excited and stoked for the girls, we've worked hard this season and it was great to get the result.
"It was unlucky with a girl going down on both sides, you never want to see injuries.
"It was about getting the girls' heads back in the game, we wanted to play 90 minutes."
Mahoney paid tribute to her teammates across the park for their performance.
"Every goal was a team goal. We all work really hard," she added.
"Katie (Fruend) and Kirby (Piper-Bye) play amazingly every week (in defence) and they don't get enough credit for what they do."
Albury City's Jess Amy said it was unfortunate they had less time to peg back St Pats' lead due to no stoppage time being played in the women's competition, but was proud of her team's display.
"We had a really good team, the girls were talking it up a treat which was fantastic, there was a lot of communication," Amy said.
"St Pats is a classy team, they're encouraging to each other, they talk each other through every play and it worked for them today.
"I got a call halfway through the season to get the boots back out of the cupboard and come and play.
"We have had to find people to play sometimes, but what a great bunch of girls.
"We're all a bunch of randoms and this is the beauty of sport here. This is a fantastic day for women's sport."
