A 25-year-old Townsville man will return to court on Tuesday after being extradited from Queensland to NSW.
The man, who was 16 when Mr Chaplin was killed, appeared before court in Penrith at the weekend, and will face Albury court on Tuesday.
IN OTHER NEWS:
It's alleged he murdered the Gerogery man some time between midday on March 30 and 6pm on May 30, 2010.
The accused, who can not be named, will face the local court, not the children's court.
Detective Chief Inspector Winston Woodward said forensic testing was needed on remains recovered from Gerogery to determine how Mr Chaplin died.
"There are people in Victoria, there are people in NSW and there are people in Queensland that have been aware of the circumstances surrounding the death of William Chaplin," he said.
"We're offering you the opportunity to come forward because Strike Force Demetrius will speak to everyone involved in the death of William Chaplin."
