Sarah Henderson's victory was a great positive for the Victorian Liberal Party, a state branch much in need of positive thinking towards their future. Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his federal colleagues won the May election against all odds for the Coalition. Their backing for Ms Henderson should not be taken lightly.
Ms Henderson was the right choice, not only to help fill the Liberal female gender gap, but also a woman that could work cohesively with Federal Agriculture Minister Bridget McKenzie, based in Wodonga.

Services are sufficient
I am a dermatologist and although not here full time, I am here for one week out of two. Also, there is another dermatologist in North Albury.
To be fair, I believe that Dr Rennick may actually be more concerned about future dermatology services because he indicated that he is close to retirement.
Apparently he found that dermatology trainees are not expressing a desire to move to country areas.
When doctors are in training, they will not have made up their mind where they would like to set up practice. Firstly, they have to finish training and most graduates will often work with other dermatologists for several years before they consider opening their own practice. It is only then that they may consider moving to the country where there is an abundance of work, or do what I do, and commute from Melbourne alternate weeks.
I agree with Dr Rennick that financial incentives may help to attract more dermatologists to country areas and also that telemedicine is not appropriate for skin diagnoses.
In conclusion, I would like to make the point to referring doctors and patients that they should be confident that there are sufficient dermatology services available for quite some time to come yet.
