Children in foster care and disability programs in the North East have 10 new bikes to play with thanks to a corporate team building exercise.

The bikes were donated to Upper Murray Family Care this week after Canberra-based business Apis Group assembled them during a team bonding workshop in Albury.
The company, which specialise in providing advice to government departments, decided to support UMFC during Foster Care Week, which runs until Saturday, with the local organisation calling for 40 more foster carers to support local children.
The bikes, which came with matching helmets, will benefit children of all ages in care and UMFC chief executive Luke Rumbold said the donation is "very generous"
"To have this many brand new bikes and helmets ready to go for kids in our foster and disability program is incredible," he said.

"It will really light up the faces of a lot of children to see and use these great new bikes and it is great another company has decided to donate them to us.
"We are really well supported throughout the year by Cycle Station in Albury with second hand bikes.
"But this donation just adds to that and goes a long way in putting smiles on the faces of children right across the Upper Murray area."
The Apis Group were in Albury during the week for the workshop facilitated by Corporate Challenge Australia.
At the end of the workshop the employees assembled the bikes as a team building exercise.
UMFC were then chosen as the local organisation who will benefit from the bikes and helmets.
Senior project manager Steve Thomson said Corporate Challenge Australia has previously been in contact with UMFC.
"They have previously approached us to receive donations from an event they were running for North East Water in Wodonga," he said.
"We look forward to further opportunities with Corporate Challenge Australia.
"And are extremely grateful for the generosity of Apis Group, benefitting both our foster care and disability programs."
UMFC are holding information sessions for people interested in becoming foster carers next week in Wodonga, Wangaratta and Benalla.
Current carers will be on hand to answer questions.
